TL;DR

I was shy to enter this boxing club; now I have signed up for my first class next week.

Whom am I speaking to? Who is this going to help?

The “nice guy” who’s good, wholesome, and not capable of being dangerous enough to be courageous.

My Practical Experience

Here are my first impressions of the boxing place I visited.

Upon arriving at the entrance, the place looked more like a warehouse than a “suburban” gym.

It’s not something that I’m used to, but inside told a different story.

The inside of a gym felt “rough” and “rugged”, the kind of place Joe Rogan would like.

It honestly seemed pretty cool. There were a bunch of athletes, mostly male with a few female, who were all “in the zone” and focused on their workout.

I even walked past one guy who was probably over about 6 foot, and I was honestly quite intimidated and closed off with my body language. But that was only a sign that this is a place where I can really grow.

The owner Omar was super kind, chill, down to Earth guy who, despite having the capacity to fight, was very easy to talk to.

My first impression of the gym was one of a prude–which is a habit that I’m doing my best to unlearn. I thought to myself, “look at all of these uneducated people going around fighting”–man was I wrong! The owner, Omar, has an MBA and even went to the local private university.

I’m really hoping to change my mindset as I experience more of life.

Thanks for the advice, now how can I practically put this to use in a simple way for daily execution?

Go out and see what’s out there–if it scares you, that’s where the opportunity is.
