TL;DR

Success if a byproduct of the shoulder’s of giants we stand on.

Whom am I speaking to? Who is this going to help?

The “Lone Wolf” who wants to be the sole source of success that horde it.

My Memory

I recall listening to Elon Musk’s interview, and how a single book is what prompted him to his massive success and, ultimately, his own life purpose (see interview here).

Here are a few key take aways from Musk’s interivew:

  1. Musk had to read many books to finally find the one book that changed his life
    • In life, we get to fail multiple times before we can get our one single big hit
  2. Musk followed his curiosity
  3. Trying to understand the right questions to ask is the important part, everything else fills in

“Expand the scope and scale of consciousness so that we’re better able to understand the nature of the universe and understand the meaning of life”

Where would Musk be if Douglas Adams, Eoin Colfer, and Thomas Tidholm had not written “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”? Where would the book be if Douglas Adams, Eoin Colfer, and Thomas Tidholm had not sit down together to write something?

Yes, absolutely, you get to put in the work, but understand that our success is due in large part to the shoulders of the giants we were able to stand on.

Given your thoughts and opinions, what practical actions can we take?

Don’t be so quick to cut people off to think you’re gonna make it big alone.

Continue to put in the work, while being open to whomever comes into your life.

Understand that you are where you are simply because you took action on the advice, support, and seed of wisdom that was bestowed upon you.

Freely give your gifts to others, because you never know who will run far with it.
