TL;DR

Allocate 10% of your income to be spent on other people, so that when the opportunity presents itself, you can give without a second thought.

Whom am I speaking to? Who is this going to help?

The guy with a 90% savings rate, but is lacking the true assets that come from friendship.

My Mind Dump.

One of my flaws is being extremely cheap. This cheap mindset also spills over to my relationships and the quality of work I do.

My inital thought is to perhaps start tithing–setting amount a specific amount of money whose’s single objective is to be spent on other people, such as:

  • lunch meeting with friends
  • tipping waiters
  • donating to good causes
  • investing in gifts for my young brothers

How does this opinion explain how the world really works in a way that accurate, wholistic, and realistic?

Given your thoughts and opinions, what practical actions can we take?

Allocate 10% of your income to be spent on other people, so that when the opportunity presents itself, you can give without a second thought.

Thanks for the advice, now how can I practically put this to use in a simple way for daily execution?
